Ambani House cost a More than poor man HOUSE ? Bombay “SLUMs” is INDIA’s Poor Comman Person House ?

Ambani House cost a More
than Poor Man HOUSE ?
Bombay “SLUMs” is INDIA’s Poor Comman Person House ?

MUMBAI: Antilia, the luxe 27-storey home of India's richest person Mukesh Ambani in south Mumbai, is ready for housewarming during the ongoing festive season. The building, which stands taller than most buildings in the vicinity and is visible from a distance in every direction, bears the name of a legendary island in the Atlantic Ocean.

Mukesh Ambani, chairman of Reliance Industries, India's largest private sector company, whose personal wealth is estimated to be $27 billion, is set to move into his mansion by the end of the month. The palatial building, completed after seven years of labour, has three helipads on the top floor and has been billed as the most opulent home of an individual anywhere in the world. The Ambani scion has invited the who's who of the country for a sneak preview and celebrations on October 28.

Ambani's multi-million-dollar customized skyscraper in Altamount Road would have Kumar Mangalam Birla, scion of the Birla family, as one of his neighbours.

The glass tower that stands 570 feet tall features a swimming pool, a health club, a salon and a mini-theatre. The first six levels comprise the garage where more than 160 cars can be parked. Atop the parking lot is Antilia's lobby, which has nine elevators.

The lobby leads to numerous lounges, powder rooms and a ballroom. The top floors, with a sweeping view of the city, are where the 53-year old business magnate, his wife Nita and children Akash, Anant and Isha will reside. Nita, who has been managing the affairs at Dhirubhai Ambani International School and the Mumbai Indians IPL team, has been involved in every detail and aspect of the mansion, roping in international architecture firms Hirsch Bedner Associates and Perkins Will. No two rooms in the building look the same.

"I have seen several houses, including that of Lakshmi Mittal (owner of Arcelor Mittal). But Antilia is marvellous. I remember the house having a Picasso painting, it was one of its kind," said the chairman of a diversified telecom-to-retail business. The ballroom, according to him, was just stunning. He confirmed that he has an invitation to visit the new Ambani home on the 28th. For some others, it has become a talking point.

Currently, the elder Ambani brother shares the address with his estranged brother Anil Ambani, who manages Reliance Anil Dhirubhai Group of companies, at Sea Wind in South Mumbai's posh Cuffe Parade. Incidentally, the elder brother bought the plot on Altamount Road soon after the spat between the brothers became public. The two have patched up recently.

Commonwealth Games is A Laughing Matter ?

Better than beating the chest, why not laugh your heart out? That’s what disappointed, dejected and despairing Delhiites are doing as the Commonwealth Games stumble from one embarrassment to another.

In the last two days, jokes about the CWG are coming up on people’s Gmail statuses, on
Facebook accounts, as tweets and also on cell phone inboxes. Get a sample:

BREAKING NEWS Kalmadi tries to commit suicide but survives as the stadium ceiling collapses!

The CWG organising committee has taken the word ‘village’ a little too seriously.

To the Common-wealth Games’ committee: Dilli badnaam hui, darling tere liye!

Will there ever be any light at the end of the tunnel for the CWG, or has the tunnel collapsed as well?

CWG: yahan khuda hai, wahan khuda hai... idhar khuda hai , udhar khuda hai... jahan nahin khuda hain, wahan kal khudega...

Kalmadi’s favourite song: CWG ki naiya hai Ram ke bharose, apni bhi naiya ko paar tu lagayi de.

Issued in public interest: When walking near CWG venues or while watching the Games IN the stadium, kindly wear a helmet all the time.

Asuvidha ke liye khel hai.

Rain, rain, go away, Suresh Calamity wants to play.

Indian bridge is falling down, falling down...

CWG: “Clogged Water Games”.

This is not rain but tears of Shera, our friendly neighbourhood CWG mascot!

Breaking News: Shera spotted at Delhi Airport trying to flee the country.

In further embarrassment, parts of a ceiling at Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium, the main Commonwealth Games venue, fell today but the Centre and Delhi government remained unfazed by the all-round attack over such incidents and instead targeted the media for highlighting "minor glitches".

Union Urban Development Minister Jaipal Reddy and Delhi Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit made light of the criticism over the preparations and counselled the media to "see the positive aspects" of the mega sporting event rather than portraying a "negative image".

Talking in unison, they insisted that the Games were "not collapsing" and all problems were being addressed.

"I would like you tell very categorically that these minor glitches and hitches do come around...But to make out that the whole thing is collapsing - I am sorry, we do not agree with that," Dikshit told reporters.

There may be minor glitches. We should try to remove the shortcomings...There may be water dripping somewhere. A wall may collapse due to rain. That does not mean the whole Games is bad," she said.

This assertion came on a day when three tiles of the false ceiling fell in the Ambedkar Weightlifting Auditorium in the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium.

Nobody was, however, injured in the incident which occurred a day after a 95-m hanging bridge, being constructed for the Games, collapsed outside the Nehru Stadium, injuring 27 people.

Reddy said personnel from Telecommunications Consultants India Limited (TCIL) were working on the false ceiling to lay cables when some part of it fell.

"All these (incidents) are not obstacles. These are hiccups," Reddy said, seeking to downplay the incidents.

"There will be some problems. There are some problems. But they are not insurmountable. If there is any concern or there is any problem, they will be addressed to," said an unfazed Dikshit who is under increased attack after yesterday's bridge collapse.

Reddy, who yesterday described the bridge collapse as "not a major" issue, today said the media was overplaying such incidents including the falling off of ceiling tiles.

"I do not think we should overestimate the importance of such incidents," said Reddy, who is also head of the Group of Ministers looking after all aspects of the CWG preparations.

He accused the media of being "very negative" about coverage of the preparations.

"I do not think we should continue to be very negative in our coverage of news. My appeal to all media friends is to present the positive aspects," he said.

Dikshit was, however, critical of the media and even said prestige of the country should be kept in mind while highlighting the "minor glitches" related to the preparations.

"We have done everything possible...We have constructed beautiful stadiums, we have created so much beautiful infrastructure, there is greenery everywhere. Why cannot you see all these? I have not seen any country where people (criticize) their own country...Please become positive. This is your country," she counselled the media.

She said the "unprecedented rains" have affected the preparations. "I think the rain we have this year is the highest in last 50-60 years," he said.

Reddy said all the venues are in "perfect shape" and that all of them have been handed over to police for security and sensitization.

CWG faces the heat from all corners. India embarrased ?
Just 12 days to go. 8000 crores spent already. Bridge collapse, leakages, Unlivable Village. And now comes the biggest fear.

Bridge disaster ends a horrendous day

New Delhi: With just 12 days to go for the Commonwealth Games, host India faced the prospect of major international embarrassment Tuesday with both its showpiece structures, the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium and the Games Village, coming under harsh scrutiny, forcing Prime Minister Manmohan Singh to intervene once again.

An under-construction foot overbridge near the main venue of the CWG collapsed, injuring 23 labourers, five of them seriously, just as Games officials and several foreign contingents complained that the village was still not fit for accommodation.
In a major blow to the preparations for the mega sporting event, expected to be attended by about 7,000 participants and officials from 71 countries and territories, the foot overbridge linking the Nehru Stadium to the parking lot, collapsed leaving red-faced officials scrambling for an explanation.

Let the Prime Minister HANG his HEAD IN SHAME for making India the LAUGHING STOCK of the WORLD....and RESIGN along with the KANGRESS from the UPA Govt.
They are fully accountable and money lost by GOI SHOULD BE RECOVERED FROM THE KANGRESS PARTY FUNDS....all the 50,000 CRORES spent without let or hindrance.
SHEILA DIXIT should RESIGN dipping her HEAD in the YAMUNA RIVER which is ready to devour the CM's head.
The Indians can NEVER build a regular BUILDING or TOWN in a proper planned manner taking into account all the amenities and conveniences required for an Ordinary citizen. These INDIAN BUILDERS and CONTRACTORS are NEVER USED to EXCELLENCE in what they do as QUICK MONEY is the only motive in all their constructions, and the goddam POLITICIANS and CORPORATORS in power are there for just such an attitude greasing their palms. So where is the question of any good constructions from the Indian Contractors or their Labourers?? They haven't any feeling that their SKILLS are on display in the various CWG Constructions that are attributed to them to their country and reflects their capabilities.
The PAAN SPITTING and PHLEGM shooting North Indian Labourers are also responsible for the FILTHY CWG. Why should the ATITHI suffer the sanitation and safety lacunas in India?? Just imagine a Weightlifter just when he is doing a PRESS suddenly finds the floor beneath him collapsing. Or spectators sitting in the Stands suddenly finds that the entire STADIUM is collapsing and so on....

NZ and AUS TEAMS ready to PULL OUT OF THE CWG AS CWG VILLAGE resembles a regular INDIAN VILLAGE of FILTH and UNLIVABLE...good for TOURISM(Original Virgin India),not for an International Event...SadSadSad

Dubai: An Emirati student, nicknamed Hamdan British, is seeking acquittal from charges of posing as a male prostitute and posting on the internet, indecent pictures of him wearing bikinis and cross-dressed to seduce men.
The 23-year-old student's lawyer Yasser Al Naqbi on Monday asked the Dubai Cassation Court to cancel his client's one-year imprisonment and dismiss his charges.
In July, the Dubai Appeal Court sentenced Hamadan British, identified as MN, to one year in jail.
MN pleaded not guilty and denied all charges before the Courts of Appeal and First Instance.
Not guilty
"My client was unlawfully arrested and detained. Law enforcement procedures were carried out unlawfully against MN. He pleaded not guilty and we are seeking to clear his charges of cross-dressing, posing as a male prostitute, having consensual sex and violating the Quran's sanctity and slandering Islam," argued Al Naqbi in a written defence which he handed to the Cassation Court on Monday.
The Appeals Court reduced MN's primary judgment, three years in jail, to one year.
Prosecutors, who questioned the convict, additionally charged him with posing as a woman and taking pictures of himself wearing women's lingerie and swim wear and posting photographs showing him dressed in women's outfits and wearing make-up.

Sleeping with your Boss can do wonders to your Career,

Sleeping with your Boss can do wonders to your Career,
Especially if you are a GAY, Trangender,Shemale,BiSexual , Transexual woman, WOMEN , Lesbian Women .
New Research Shows.
In the study, some 37 per cent of office workers said that from their experience those who slept with their superiors were rewarded with a career boost.
The research for the U.S. Centre for Work-Life Policy found that no matter how high achieving, female executives will not reach the very top of their profession unless they find a 'sponsor' who will speak out on their behalf, reports the Daily Mail.ome 34 per cent of women in executive positions said they knew a female colleague who had slept with their boss.
Even at director level or above, 15 per cent of women admitted to having had an office fling.
In terms of morale, 61 per cent of men and 70 per cent of women lose respect for a leader involved in an affair.
The study also showed that 60 per cent of male executives and 65 per cent of female executives suspect that salary hikes and plum assignments are being traded for sexual favours.ome 48 per cent of men and 56 per cent of women feel animosity towards the involved couple, and 39 per cent of men and 37 per cent of women see a fall off in productivity as the team splinters.
Relationships expert Jean Hannah Edelstein said: "Office affairs are a bad idea. Your boss already has a lot of power of you so once your start sleeping with him, how do you know that he's going to fulfil his end of the bargain?
"Even if it happens in the short term, everyone will know what's going on and you'll lose their respect.
"It poisons the atmosphere and in the long run it is not worth it and will follow you around the industry."

Wakeup CALL to INDIAN Reality Shows :- Dimpy Dumps Rahul Mahajan Basted After Physical Abuse ?

Rahul Mahajan surely knows how to hog limelight. He earned instant celebrity status with his flirtatious ways in Big Boss 2. After lot of guesswork and speculations he chose to marry Dimpy Ganguly who participated in the reality TV show ‘ Rahul Dulhaniya Le Jayega.Rahul married Dimpy inspite of people telling him that it’s not right to marry within 2 -3 days of his uncle’s death. He too defended her when media came up with reports of bikini shoots and her sleazy hot item numbers. But the million dollar question is – Is this wedding just a farce? Will they repeat the Rakhi Sawant episode?
For the time being, Rahul is taking Dimpy to Maldives for Honeymoon.
Its not the Rahul who is at fault. the fault is of Dimpy who has played with her own life having done marriage in the reality show with the knowledge that the person with whom she has to marry has doubtful hostory in ragards to married life. rahul has just repeated the act of non-humen with Dimpy which already he has done with his first wife Shweta. So here i want to appeal that everyone should select her/his life partner with 110% seriousness. Life is not a reality show.
Inspite of knowing his story she took risk of marrying... Few ppl always need experience to realise.. now she has realised.
i completely agree with ashok.........
I think, the indian people should banned the reality shows stuff in india. This is the waste of time, the new generation will repeat the same kind of stuff in the future.
NDTV Imaging has earned money.
Rahul Mahajan has earned money too and enjoyed 3/4 months with the girls and last by dimpy.
I know, there is the issues with the girls who came in the reality show for the popuplarity but i don't think so they should come.
Before some time, rakhi sawant has done the same stuff with ILESH.
However, i just want to say is that just oppossed to these kind of stuffs...
rahul mahajan is a dirty fellow. The girl should have thought before taking such a crucial decision.
what else u can expect from this a******...

Congrats....Dimpy hope u got the reward yeh toh hona hi tha!!!!!! think now its time for Rahul Dulhaniya Le Jayege Season-2.... Shame on u Rahul the persons who attended ur marriage are "FOOLS" nice trick to enjoy legal sex.
Man
DIMPY HAS GOT HER BEST REWARD FOR THE GOOD OR BAD SHE DID FOR HERSELF.ITS NOT ABOUT REALITY SHOW.....ITS ABOUT CHICHOORA..... MAHAJAN. IF SOMEONE ASKS ME ...WHATS THE OPPOSITE GENDER OF RAKHI SAWANT....ITS CHICHORRA MAHAJAN...............BUT THERE IS NO END......CHICHORRA WILL GET A NEW SWETA...DIMPI OR PIMPI.......BUT WE ANE OBSSESSED WITH EVEN ONE....
whatever rahul mahajan has done with his previous wife or doing with current wife is not good. somebody should take a legal action aginst him or teach him how to behave with a women.
I don't understand why girls behave as if they don't know anything..
It seems most of these girlz have very very very short memory..
And i don't have any sympathy with "dimpy" .. coz it was her choice to marry him.. she must have done all for publicity..
it's too bad fpr our culture & socity
This is very disgusting about Rahul....This was his second chance to prove himself but nothin has changed him ...He is a Complete "FAKE"...Dimpi has already given him a chance now she should take some serious action....
i say that even god gets angry when we do not follow his basic rules you have heard only one side of the story through media .This is issue between husband and wife why third person interfere so what if the marriage was through through reality show but after all it was real and both should understand the depth of the reality give time she will know what he likes and does not like and he also will.
every one is blaming rahul and dimpy ..btu indirectly wr are the one who stand behind all this we gave them publicity n fame so here they are........well done rahul n dimpy
Rahul is a one more example of persons. who misuse popularity gain by their parents. At least history says same. media should not be highlight such type of person

he is a totally fake person i think dipy knows him very well . she got reward for her decision
rahul has not done anything new...........dimpy had come for popularity.........which she got after marrying rahul and now she has earned even more popularity after this domestic abuse.........well there are few ppl who learn from others mistake......and there are few fools who commit those same mistake and learn and i guess dimpy is just one of them
It is not rahuls fault has he did not get the right girl after is 2nd marraige...it happens with all indian guys as indian girls want more money and bliss.......as indian women today are harrased for so many reasons and rahul mahajan is highkighted because he is a popular guy,,,if it was a lay man nobody will bother...

Good that his father is not alive to see his son doing all these things.... its so cheap.... i agree with one of the comment above people or responsible authority should stop reality shows like this.... specially fixing up marriages... seriously government should take proper action on shows like this and specially on people like this....

Huge Financial Corruption Taken By Karnataka CID Basteds of INDIA Goverment BullShit of Karnataka goverment ??

Huge Financial Corruption
Taken By Karnataka CID Basteds
of  INDIA Goverment BullShit of
Karnataka goverment ??
Bangalore: The Karnataka high court has indicated that it would quash the two First Information Reports (FIRs) filed against godman Swami Paramahamsa Nithyananda in Bidadi police station if the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) failed to chargesheet him within four weeks.

The indication came after justice Arali Nagaraj on Friday issued an ultimatum to the CID to either file the chargesheet or a final report in the matter within four weeks.

The judge was hearing the petition filed by Nithyananda seeking the quashing of the two FIRs, including one on rape. The matter has been posted to August 20 for final hearing.

Investigating officer KN Yogappa submitted that he was yet to chargesheet the godman as he could not collect evidence for various offences registered against the swami.

The government counsel further submitted to the court that they needed some time to record statements of Nithya Vimalananda and Nithya Gopika, both of whom were residing abroad, to ascertain if the godman had committed any offence under Section 377 of IPC on unnatural sex. One of the two was likely to arrive in India soon, the court was informed.

Yogappa submitted that no statement could be recorded for offences under Section 376 of IPC on rape as Tamil actor Ranjitha, whose alleged sleaze acts with self-styled godman Nityananda triggered off a public outcry, has denied any sexual relations with him and termed the video footage aired by television channels as “morphed”.

In a statement to the CID, Ranjitha rejected charges of sexual harassment by Nithyananda and said the woman shown on the video was not her. She denied any sexual relations with the swami and said that she had “only visited Nithyananda’s room once or twice”.

Yogappa told the court that he had sought permission from the Centre to rush two officers abroad in connection with the probe, and this would require time.

The judge said though enough evidence had been collected for offences under Sections 295A and 506 IPC, material was yet to be collected under the other two sections slapped against the godman.

Dirty & Valagar INDIAN NRI MEN in WORLD ?

I am an NRI. My marriage took place in the USA. Can I file for divorce in India? A: This is a complicated legal question as each case has peculiar facts ...
British officials have been dealing with several cases of young Indian-origin women being forced into marriages against their will, but recent cases show a sharp increase of men facing such ordeals.
Britain has set up a Forced Marriage Unit (FMU) that deals with cases of British citizens being forcibly taken to the Indian sub-continent and married against their will for cultural, immigration or family reasons.
The unit has rescued several young women, but it is estimated that most cases go unreported. Latest figures show that during the last year, the unit registered a 65 per cent rise in the number of calls from men.
The unit received the most calls from men linked to Pakistan, followed by India and Bangladesh. It also received calls from British men with links to the Middle East, Africa and eastern Europe.
A spokesman said: "The calls we receive are the tip of the iceberg. It now seems likely that men account for one in five of all the forced marriages that take place to British citizens."
In June, the FMU took a call from a young man in Leicester whose family had allegedly locked him in his bedroom after discovering that he was gay.
He told the FMU that his family were downstairs, discussing whether to take him to India and either kill him, abandon him there or marry him off.
Last year, the FMU gave advice and support to 1,682 men and women regarding suspected forced marriage.
More than 220 calls and emails involved male victims, up from 134 in 2008. As of the end of May this year, there have been 88 calls from men for help.
Foreign Office Minister Jeremy Browne said: "Boys and men who are forced into marriage find it harder to ask for help than women, but we are urging males affected by forced marriage to speak out and seek the help that is available to them."
He added: "Of course, women make up the majority of forced marriage victims, and over 1,400 reports of women facing this abuse were dealt with by the FMU last year.
But people often don't realise that men can be victims of forced marriage too."

Australia Fucks 15,000 Indian Students to INDIA ?

Around 15,000 Indian students in Australia could be forced to return home under a revised skills list that is set to become the mandate for visas and permanent residency to that country from July 1. Minister for Overseas Indian Affairs Vayalar Ravi has urged Canberra to exempt existing students from the new list.

Australia has slashed the existing Skilled Occupations List (SOL) from 400 skills to just 181 for vocational courses and jobs, which are prerequisites to acquire permanent resident status and student visas.

Ravi, who visited Australia recently and raised the issue, is confident the Australian government will not turn down his plea, though he said it hasn't committed to his request to exempt the existing students from the new skills list in order to let them finish with their courses and for permanent residency.

'I asked the Australian ministers to implement the list prospectively and not retrospectively... I have asked them to give our students two and a half years' time to find a sponsor and employment,' Ravi told IANS, after returning from a week-long trip to Australia where he met Foreign Minister Stephen Smith, Trade Minister Simon Crean and Immigration and Citizenship Minister Chris Evans.

Ministry of Overseas Indian Affairs (MOIA) Joint Secretary G. Gurucharan told IANS that 60 percent of the Indian students will not be affected by the revised list, and of the remaining, 30 percent will be given a transition period of two and a half years to either find a job or sponsor to acquire permanent resident status.

He said those in trouble are the remaining 10 percent, or around 10,000 students, who arrived in Australia on student visas with neither vocational nor language skills only intending to pick up jobs and secure permanent residency.

However, Ravi is confident that the authorities will not let down the students. He said: 'I am confident and hopeful that Australia will not disappoint our students though they have not committed to us on anything... They will look into the matter.'

Gurucharan said the ministry had reasoned with the Australian authorities that despite prior knowledge that these students lacked vocational and language skills, Australia had issued them student visas and so now they cannot be forced to leave.

'But they also had a good argument in their favour that when they gave these students visas, it was only a student visa and so under the new list they cannot be given permanent resident status. But still the minister (Ravi) spoke on their behalf to the Australian authorities and we are hopeful,' he added.

Also affected by the new SOL are at least 5,000 other students. They were hit when the Australian government ordered closure of 34 of its privately-run institutes in the last few months for failing to meet the laid down standards. Many more institutes are expected to follow suit.

The High Commission of India in Australia had early this year warned students planning higher studies in that country of the existence of several sub-standard institutions which do not meet the standards set by the Australian federal and state governments.

The state government in Victoria is currently auditing 41 privately-run educational colleges. Further, the federal government has mandated that all education providers and institutions delivering to international students need to re-register by Dec 31, 2010, so that the government can ensure they meet the mandated standards.

During his visit, Ravi also held talks with the Victoria Premier John Brumby and asked him to take initiatives to help the Indian students continue with their courses in recognised institutes without being affected by the new list and also help them find employment under the state-sponsored immigration policy.

'I tried to impress upon them that our students should not lose out on opportunities, they have spent a lot of money and energy to get there but when institutes are being shut down by the government, what will our children do? I am hoping they won't disappoint our children,' Ravi added.

100 crore Loss on Ravan and Kites why ???

The janta review of Kites and Raavan was swift and cruel. F-L-O-P. Flop. That’s real bad news for the common producer of both films – Reliance Big Pictures. Sources say the company has lost upwards of Rs 100 crore on these films. By its current scale of performance, Raavan looks to sink lower than the other mega-budget dud – Kites.
Both films had extensive pre-launch promotions. Alas – promotions ensure that a film has a good opening over the weekend. That’s it. After that, it is the content of the film itself which will make it swim or sink.  Beating poor reviews and word-of-mouth ratings, Kites managed a good opening weekend, netting in Rs 30 crore.
Raavan has collected less than Rs 20 crore at the close of its opening weekend. This week onwards, Raavan has a clear run with no competing releases. Yet, analysts predict it will sink further.  Nothing can salvage Raavan with its below average opening of 50% across the country.
Kites and Raavan were expected to follow Raajneeti’s rocking show at the box office.  Instead, the films have become Bollywood ki Aag. That’s something, even by Bollywood standards of expecting the most unexpected.
Was it the actors?  Raavan is Abhishek Bacchan’s third film with Mani Ratnam. After Yuva and Guru, expectations were sky-high from Abhishek Bachchan. (We tend to dismiss Delhi 6). What the janta saw was largely dismissed as hamming and posturing, amateurish and naive.  Questions raised on faking the much-vaunted dive didn’t help.
Hrithik was appreciated in Kites for his good looks (which the camera made love to, framing him in tight close-ups and bare torso scenes). Jai faltered, Hrithik didn’t.
Scintillating Barbara Mori looked pretty in Kites. So does Aishwarya in Raavan. Luminous, floating around in the forest, long curly drenched hairpiece and carefully crafted no make up look.  So we’ve heard of the chemistry between the stand-in Sita and the shrieking baddie. We think back to the mock fight when the same pair landed on a bed in Guru and phuuuuuus- zilch. Aishwarya, I suspect, still looks hottest with Hrithik.  Hrithik and Barbara’s crackling chemistry and smouldering looks kept Kites ticking.
Both films are richly crafted and produced – sweeping shots, stunning locales, jungles, waterfalls, but where is the story? So Kites was painful and downright silly in the second half. With Raavan and its confusing plot (Beera is Raavan, Robin Hood or Veerappan), why does Vikram wear aviator glasses in the jungle (he’s a cop, they cost a lot, no?) and run slo-mo, etc, etc. The plot rests mostly in Mani Ratnam’s head.
To sum up, here’s what I am saying other filmmakers should avoid like the plague:
  • Avoid bumbling actors who ham for the camera

  • If your film is titled Raavan, don’t hope that Sita will see it through

  • Get a lead pair who look hot together

  • Let the story out of the director’s head and out there for the audience

  • Acknowledge the use of stuntmen/women

  • Don’t get Ma and Pa to defend your film

  • Think of a strategy to counter word-of-mouth ratings and reviews

  • Don’t let others in Bollywood poke fun at your expense and ask RGV and KJo to take their tweet battles offline

Read my colleague Rummana’s review of Raavan here. ‘Abhi-Ash are insufferable’, she says. And here’s the trailer.

Now vote here and tell me what you think is the reason for Raavan’s no-show:
