Bihar Government in Lalu & Rabri Devi Pocket ??

New Delhi: In a huge relief to Lalu Prasad and his wife Rabri Devi in the disproportionate assets case, the Supreme Court said Thursday Bihar government is not competent enough to challenge the acquittal of Lalu and his wife by the trial court when they were prosecuted by the CBI.
The apex court was hearing a petition filed by RJD chief Lalu Prasad and his wife challenging the decision of the Patna High Court admitting the appeal of Bihar government against their acquittal in a disproportionate assets case.

"I am very happy today," said the RJD leader, in response to the judgement. "We welcome SC's verdict. I believe in the judiciary."
The CBI had booked Lalu Prasad and Rabri Devi on charges of amassing property worth Rs 46 lakh above their legal sources of income in the fodder scam case.
Lalu was sent to the Bihar military police guest house on judicial remand in July 1997 and again in October 1998...He spent a day in the Beur jail in the disproportionate assets case in November 2000.
Lalu Prasad and Rabri Devi, however, were acquitted of all charges by Special CBI Judge Muni Lal Paswan in Dec 2006.
The Bihar government challenged their acquittal in 2007.
Corruption allegations:
Lalu has been charged with corruption cases, the most famous being the "Fodder scam". In the Fodder Scam, the funds meant for cattle fodder were diverted from the animal husbandry department. Lalu was one of the main accused in multi-million rupee scam. After corruption charges compelled Lalu to step down as chief minister of Bihar in 1997, he made his wife Rabri Devi the chief minister. From 1997 to 2001, Lalu was sent to jail five times.
Lalu was first sent to "Judicial remand" (Bihar Military Police guest house, Patna) on July 30, 1997 for 134 days.
On October 28, 1998, he was sent again to the same guest house for 73 days.
When the Supreme Court of India took exception to his guest house stay, he was shifted to the Beur jail in Patna.
He was later remanded for 11 days on April 5, 2000, in a disproportionate assets case. He surrendered along with his wife, Rabri Devi, and was sent to the Beur Jail. Due to proceedings in the fodder scam, Lalu was remanded for a day in Beur jail on November 28, 2000.
On November 26, 2001, he was again remanded, in a case related to the fodder scam. Lalu accused NDA of creating a conspiracy against him. On October 1, 2004 the Supreme Court of India served a notice to Lalu and Rabri Devi on fodder scam. This was in response to a petition, which alleged that they have been interfering with the investigation.
Laloo Prasad Yadav and his wife, Rabri Devi have been acquitted in disproportionate assets as per judgment delivered on 18 December 2006.
In August 2008, CNN-IBN alleged that Lalu Prasad had misused his position as the Union Railway Minister to help his relatives acquire land. A year-long investigation by IBN7 shows that Lalu bought land, worth several lakh rupees for his relatives, from those who aspired for a job in the Railways.
Cases against Lalu:
1996 Fodder Scam: Lalu allegedly diverted funds from Animal husbandry dept
DA case: Offshoot of fodder scam,Lalu accused of amassing assets
2008: CNN-IBN exposed Lalu misused position to help relatives acquire land

Shoot-at-sight orders issued in Hyderabad as riots spread

Hyderabad: Communal riots spread to new areas in Hyderabad on Tuesday even as shoot-at-sight orders were issued in the old city and curfew was imposed in the areas under eight more police stations.
While curfew continued the old city without any relaxation, it was imposed in new areas following fresh clashes.
Hyderabad police Commissioner A.K. Khan said on Tuesday evening that indefinite curfew would be in force in Afzalgunz, Begumbazar, Shahinathgunz, Tappachaputra, Asifnagar, Mangalhat, Kulsumpura and Habibnagar police stations.
He also imposed prohibitory orders banning processions and rallies across this Andhra Pradesh capital after clashes in new areas.
The indefinite curfew in the riot-hit old city of Hyderabad continued on Tuesday without relaxation. All 17 police stations under the south zone were brought under curfew on Monday night to control the situation.
The communal violence, which was so far confined to the old city, spread to other areas in the city, triggering tension.
Groups belonging to two different communities clashed in Musheerabad, Bholakpur and Rani Gunj and other areas in central Hyderabad and its twin city Secunderabad.
Andhra Pradesh police chief Girish Kumar told reporters that police were ordered to shoot anyone carrying lethal weapons, stones or sticks in the curfew-bound old city. The order came after fresh incidents of violence that left over 30 people injured.
While the curfew-bound old city remained by and large peaceful, trouble broke out in Musheerabad area when some people allegedly pelted stones on a religious procession. Rival groups clashes with stones and sticks. The miscreants attacked houses and damaged over 20 vehicles.
The trouble spread to nearby Bholakpur and Rani Gunj areas. In Begum Bazar area near the old city, police opened fire in the air to disperse two clashing groups.
There was tension in several areas as various organisations took out processions to mark Hanuman Jayanti. As the tension was mounting, police ordered closure of shops and business establishments in almost all parts of the city as a precautionary measure. Almost the entire city wore a deserted look.
Sporadic incidents of stone pelting were reported from curfew-bound areas of Gulzar Houz and Shahali Banda near the historic Charminar but the police controlled the situation by resorting to baton charges and arresting the miscreants.
The violence, which broke out Saturday in Moosabowli area of Hussaini Alam over a dispute on putting up of religious flags, has so far left one person dead and over 80 injured while several places of worship were attacked and vehicles torched.
With rampaging mobs taking to streets in several areas Monday afternoon, police imposed curfew to bring the situation under control. Hundreds of policemen and paramilitary forces personnel were deployed across the communally-sensitive walled city.
The violence of last three days and the curfew has put the residents to severe inconvenience.

Police, with the help of some dairy farms, arranged supply of milk in curfew-bound areas Tuesday morning. Women were allowed to come out and buy milk from the suppliers.
Policemen from other parts of the state, neighbouring states and personnel of central forces like Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF), Rapid Action Force (RAF) and Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) have been deployed in the trouble-torn areas.
Police Commissioner Khan said any decision on relaxing the curfew would be taken after a review of the situation Wednesday.
He said police had formed special teams to identify the culprits behind the riots. 'We have so far arrested 110 people in connection with various incidents and questioning them to identify the culprits,' Khan said.
Authorities have postponed the Class 10 examinations in all curfew-bound areas. The education department announced that the examinations would be held for students in the old city at a later date.

India 2012, an e-waste bin

3 pm: Satish Sawant, an insurance agent, collected his brand new Nano from a showroom in Prabhadevi, and headed home, dreaming of showing off his first car to his family at LIC Colony, Mulund (W).
3.45 pm: The car burst into flames at Eastern Express Highway. Sawant jumped to safety.
Sawant had spent Rs 2.4 lakh on the silver Nano (MH03 AW 913), which he had got fitted with an A/C and a power steering.
As Sawant cannot drive, the Concorde Motors showroom provided him with a driver to take him home safely.
There was not much afternoon traffic on the Eastern Express Highway, it being a Sunday afternoon. Sawant managed to cross Bhandup in less than 40 minutes. Around 3.45 pm, he reached Navghar Signal on the Eastern Express Highway. Suddenly, a motorcycle overtook him, signalling him to look behind.
As he turned to see what the biker was pointing at, he was alarmed to see the rear of the car in flames.
Sawant and the driver leapt out of the burning car. In no time, the car was engulfed in flames. Even a tree on the side of the highway was singed.
A shaken Sawant said, "I have no idea what happened. A motorcycle rider overtook me and told me that the vehicle was on fire. The engine was behind me and I did not realise that the car was on fire," said Sawant.
A fire tender rushed to the scene and doused the fire. The Navghar police (Mulund E) have registered a case yesterday evening.

This is ridicules the way the car burst in to flame in mulund on Sunday , as we say in mumbai language {sasthe ka maal rasthe mein} this is what the tata motors showing their way of manufacturing responsibilities
i think the managment should take intial step to investigate what is the reason behind of the flame in brand new car . otherwise , thing become difficult for those people who are still hoping for a dream for their family .
{ a responsible citizen of India }
Hmm, I am told that many of the low-floor local buses of Tata make in Delhi burst into flames last year in summer; now Tata Nano bursting into flames. Tata must stop delivery of all these vehicles and recall existing ones - it must immediately begin investigating into what's wrong with its vehicles/engine-assembly.

Unless, of course, the chalta hai attitude has now extended to Tatas as well. The common man's life has never been of much worth since we have had population explosion, so everyone from businessmen to politicians now believes they can easily sabotage the right to live guaranteed under the constitution.

This is very big news in fact. Its implication will be felt world-wide. The whole world is watching how the 'cheapest car in the world' fared but with this news the critics will have a field day. Let's hope Tata Motors does some good fire-fighting job - the country's reputation is at stake.

An insurance agent's car going up in flames. Something is fishy right there.

New Delhi, March 19 - What a dump, and it is growing by the hour. Almost 40 per cent of the municipal and plastic waste generated in India is not collected, and half of the organic waste goes untreated. And then there is the growing problem of electronic waste.
By 2012, India will generate the most e-waste in the world, second only to China. Most cities do not have adequate infrastructure to manage the growing household and plastic rubbish, even though there are technologies available for treatment and reuse.
"There are only 110 facilities in the country for treating hardly 50 per cent of the organic waste generated," says the environment ministry's report on Road Map on Management of Waste in India A committee of the ministry has sought a law for waste-management with punitive action against defaulters.
The report call for higher penalty for those failing to properly dispose of municipal garbage. "Unless the city administrations get serious about waste management, the problem could become a major health risk," an official, who didn't wish to be identified, said. But, it's the economic growth that poses the biggest challenge - managing e-waste, which can be a discarded refrigerator or end-of-life cellphone or a laptop.
By 2012, India will generate over 800,000 million tonne (mt) of e-waste every year. At present, Mumbai tops the e-waste chart followed by Delhi. Western countries are adding to this mound. The estimate is not known as the ministry believes much of the e-waste is brought in illegally. NGOs such as Toxic Link have raised health concern over US and Europe dumping e-waste in India.
Even though disposing e-waste is defined under Hazardous Waste Management Rules in 2008, most cities don't have a system to collect and dispose of discarded gadgets. "Producers should be bound to take back their products after the life of the product is over and to get it recycled/disposed in. without health risks," says the report released on Thursday.
Poor management of the industry-generated hazardous waste is another worry. Annually 6.2 mt of the waste is generated and 2.1 mt goes untreated. The report talks of 36,000 hazardous waste industries, which include those manufacturing chemicals and plastic. Indiscriminate disposal has left many places environmentally degraded, says the report.

Yes, it is me in the video: Swami Nithyananda ?????

K'taka police may transfer

Nithyananda case to CID

BANGALORE: The High Court on Tuesday refused to stay the investigation against Swami Nithyananda who is facing charges of cheating and hurting religious sentiments. While hearing two separate petitions by Nithyananda, Justice Arali Nagaraja issued notice to the State police and directed them to produce the probe papers. The court posted the matter for hearing to Thursday. The swami contended that the complaint was filed on the basis of hearsay and the averments in the complaint were false. The complaint is in the form of a memorandum and it does not specify any cognisable offence, he said. The complainant is neither a power of attorney holder nor an authorised person of the aggrieved parties. So the registration of the case was illegal, he said. The investigating agency should have conducted a preliminary inquiry before registering the case, which it failed to do. Besides, the registration of cases under section 377 (offence for unnatural sex) and 376 (rape) are not maintainable as the aggrieved parties have not filed the complaint, the petitioner’s counsel argued. The video tape was manipulated to extort money from the ashram, the petitioner alleged.

Mar 17: Action can be expected soon in the Swami Nithyananda sex scandal case as Karnataka police, which has received the required information from Tamil Nadu, is busy translating the documents besides mulling the transfer of the case to CID.

Speaking to the media on Tuesday, Mar 16, Additional DGP (Law and Order) A R Infant informed that cases against the spiritual guru will be re-registered by the Ramanagaram police as the ashram where the sex tape was recorded comes under Ramanagaram jurisdiction.

>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>
As of now the police are translating all papers sent by Tamil Nadu police into Kannada for filing fresh cases against the godman.

Since the nature of the case is complex, the police is likely to transfer the case to CID.

As per the latest reports, a probe is likely to be launched into the case filed by Nithya Dharmananda alias Lenin in Tamil Nadu alleging that Nithyananda's disciples were plotting to kill him.

"The case filed by Nithya Dharmananda alias Lenin in Chennai was transferred to Bidadi police through Ramanagaram District Superintendent of Police late last evening for re-registration," Additional DGP (Law and Order), A R Infant told a news agency.

Besides this, the police will also be checking the CDs and the footage aired in the media to check if the CD was doctored or was genuine

Mayawati spent around Rs 200 crore on her rally, wore a garland worth Rs 22.5 crores.. Is this justified in a nation where a large chunk of the total population is still below the poverty line??

Mayawati spent around Rs 200 crore on her rally, wore a garland worth Rs 22.5 crores.. Is this justified in a nation where a large chunk of the total population is still below the poverty line?? How to use Public money for MAYA Bitch for personal USE ?? Dog Shit on Maya Bitch Dead Body ???? Maya’s garland worth Rs 5 crore? How to use Public money for MAYA  Bitch for personal USE Dog Shit on  Maya Bitch Dead Body garland strung together with 1,000-rupee notes.BSP for spending over Rs 300 crore of public money  some 50,000 currency notes of 1000 rupee denomination were believed to have been used ?

Bahujan Samaj Party president Mayawati  had the most pleasant surprise in store for her when her party workers from Karnataka  garlanded her with a special garland believed to be made of currency notes worth Rs. 5 crore.
In fact, none noticed the Rs. 1000 rupees currency notes with which the huge garland was created until these became visible in some shots by some local photographers. "We notices the notes when we zoomed in for our shots", said the photographer, covering the event.
Earlier, while Mayawati was being garlanded, mediapersons could see from a distance that it was not a run-of-the mill garland, beholders initially thought the garland was made of exotic flowers. However, the mystery was unraveled when TV channels covering the event beamed pictures of the garland.
Those present on the dais, however feigned ignorance about the unique garland in which some 50,000 currency notes of 1000 rupee denomination were believed to have been used.
The garland was specially crafted and brought by Mayawati's party functionaries all the way from Bengaluru for Monday's mega rally organized by her to mark the ruling party's silver jubilee celebrations which coincided with the 76th birth anniversary of party founder and her political mentor, Kanshi Ram.

If now law is there, Let's make it which will restrict all leaders from misusing money.
Also i am more interested to know what are her govt's achievements????

Rather concentrating on people's welfare, this lady his mis-using the "Tax Money" paid by the General Public. It's pain 2 understand, why she's wasting the entire money of the people.

The Supreme Court gives only the warnong 2 her & condemning her activities, which cannot B tolerable at any given point of time.

Why not the Supreme Court & Present govt. at the Centre should not dismiss her for her legtharic administration?

Since, Mayawathi has wasted lot of public money till date like erecting 2 much memorials, instead of caring the "below Poverty People & accidental victims".

One of the worst lady leader in the present political scenario, which Indian country has ever seen like this.

very true!it is we the so called educated citizens who either don't vote or vote on the basis of caste, creed, religion etc to empower such incompetent person to such important posts. there is no scarcity of funds for development works but it scarcity of serving attitude to make it happen and instead fulfilling own personal ambitions. So, before people of India "Jaago uttar Pradesh Walo" and do what the great citizens of Bihar did to get out of dark ages of lalu's 15yrs of rule. Go and vote for change and vote to competent persons with good educational, professional and social background with clean image no matter which party they belong to, perhaps this will force the parties to think twice before giving tickets to any illiterate and incompetent person or anyone with criminal background. Also media should stand-up instead of becoming source of advertisements to all these political parties,it should have courage enough to codemn them all and expose them instead of hiding truth from people and serving political interests of few parties. Hats off to all of you for raising your loud voices...........
