Osama Bin Laden Dead Photo is FAKE ??

Osama Bin Laden Dead at Abbottabad Mansion | Osama Bin Laden Killed | Al Qaeda Leader Dead at Abbottabad Mansion (VIDEO, PHOTOS)

President Obama announced that Osama bin Laden, the leader of Al Qaeda responsible for the Sept. 11 attacks, was killed in a firefight during an operation he ordered Sunday inside Pakistan, ending a 10-year manhunt for the world’s most wanted terrorist.

PAKISTAN TRUTH REVELED FINALLY: The Times reports that the mansion was constructed in 2005. As Ogle Earth reports, there is construction noticeable in 2005 on Google Earth shots of a site that fits with descriptions of the area in 2005:

It was hardly the spartan cave in the mountains where many had envisioned Bin Laden to be hiding. Rather, it was a mansion on the outskirts of the town's center, set on an imposing hilltop and ringed by 12-foot-high concrete walls topped with barbed wire.

The property was valued at $1 million, but it had neither a telephone nor an Internet connection. Its residents were so concerned about security that they burned their trash rather putting it on the street for collection like their neighbors.

Osama Bin Laden Dead Photo is FAKE

An image apparently showing a dead Osama bin Laden broadcast on Pakistani television and picked up by British newspaper websites is a fake.

The bloodied image of a man with matted hair and a blank, half-opened eye has been circulating on the internet for the past two years. It was used on the front pages of the Mail, Times, Telegraph, Sun and Mirror websites, though swiftly removed after the fake was exposed on Twitter.

It appears the fake picture was initially published by the Middle East online newspaper themedialine.org on 29 April 2009, with a warning from the editor that it was "unable to ascertain whether the photo is genuine or not".

Since then, however, the image has been claimed as genuine on a number of conspiracy forums and used to substantiate claims that the terrorist responsible for the 9/11 bombings had been killed.

The Guardian was one of the few sites to hold back from using the manipulated image on its front page, reporting the picture's existence in its live blog but questioning its legitimacy.

The image is based on a genuine photograph of Bin Laden taken in 1998 and used by the Reuters news agency.

Update May 3: Google today updated its base image layer to include imagery from Abbottabad taken on May 9, 2010 — just under a year ago. You can still see the imagery from 2005 (and 2001) by using the historical imagery time slider tool in Google Earth.] And Indeed, in the specific region marked by Al Jazeera, there is construction underway in 2005. Below is the imagery in 2005, then in 2001, then in 2005 again with the construction marked.

Imagery taken on June 15, 2005

Imagery taken on March 23, 2001

Construction ongoing on June 15, 2005
Of course, it is possible that construction on the mansion began after June 15, 2005.
Finally, here is a Google Map I’ve made of the locations mentioned in this article:

It’s possible that these locations are wrong. The easiest way to find the precise place would be to walk on over there and take a look, but failing that, I will keep this article updated with more accurate information as it becomes available.
UPDATE 9:53 UTC: Pakistan-based journalist Omar Waraich tweets that the location of the mansion, and where he is headed to, is Bilal colony/town in Abbottabad. On Google Maps there is a marker tagged “Bilal Mosque” which corresponds perfectly with the screenshots of Google Earth above. In other words, there is reason to be more confident that the above locations are correct.
UPDATE 13:29 UTC: Here are screen grabs from Al Jazeera of the compound:

As you can see from the wide shot, the compound (not so much a “mansion” in terms of opulence”) faces the edge of an area with fields. Zooming in, we can see a section of red tarpaulin erected to hide ongoing investigatory activity. The mountainscape behind the compound can be reconstructed in Google Earth from the Bilal Town location pinpointed above. In other words, this is more evidence that Bin Laden’s compound is in the above location, most likely on the dirt road that runs along the creek visible in the Google Earth screenshots.
UPDATE 13:51 UTC: Here’s a screengrab of Al Jazeera’s map referred to above (via):

UPDATE 14:52 UTC: After a comment left by Dave (below), I took another look further to the west east of Bilal Mosque to see if there was any prominent construction there in 2005, in an area that is less built up than in Bilal Town proper. And indeed, there is one conspicuous compound that sticks out, and which closely matches the video imagery above. Here is the view in Google Earth in 2001:

And here it is in 2005:

I think we have a very likely candidate here. (I’ve updated the map and added the location to the Google Earth KML file.)
UPDATE 15:13 UTC: Published a few minutes ago, this new story by the BBC all but confirms that this compound is indeed the correct location, with a highly detailed map:

UPDATE 16:22 UTC: The CIA Pentagon releases aerial imagery confirming that this is indeed the location, as reported by the National Journal: (Click to enlarge. PDF of originals)

An ''age progressed'' combination photo of Osama Bin Laden (Usama bin Ladin) provided by the U.S. Department of State and the FBI on January 15, 2010. REUTERS/U.S. State Department/Handout/Files

(Reuters) - Al Qaeda leader Osama bin Laden was killed in a U.S. helicopter raid on a mansion near the Pakistani capital Islamabad early on Monday, officials said, ending a nearly 10-year worldwide hunt for the mastermind of the Sept. 11 attacks.

If Benazir Bhutto was correct then
Bin Laden is dead. If Bin Laden is dead,
he can’t make tapes. If Bin Laden is dead, everything the US government has said about bin Laden is either wrong, mistaken, or, most probably, a bald-faced lie. If Bin Laden is dead, then everything Bush has been telling you about the war on terrorism over several years is either wrong or a lie or both. In any case, there was never any hard evidence linking Bin Laden to the events of 911! If Binny can’t make tapes, Bush cannot exploit them to wage a “war” about which he has never told the truth.

Osama bin Laden's body buried at sea: US official
Al-Qaeda leader Osama bin Laden's body has been buried at sea, as the United States does not want his burial place to become a terrorist shrine, a US official has said. The official said that the body was handled according to Islamic practice and tradition, Fox News reports.
That practice calls for the body to be buried within 24 hours, the official added.

"Finding a country willing to accept the remains of the world's most wanted terrorist would have been difficult. So, the US decided to bury him at sea," the official said.
The Saudi-born terrorist, who had evaded capture for a decade, was killed in a top secret operation involving a small team of US special forces in Abbottabad city, located 50 kilometres northeast of Islamabad and 150 kilometres east of Peshawar, Pakistan.
Under Islamic tradition, the body is washed by Muslim men and buried as soon as possible.
The body is usually buried in a simple white sheet -whether buried in the ground, or at sea. (ANI)

Sathya Sai Baba - a god man or a normal human being ??

Sathya Sai Baba - a god man or a normal human being - is the question has been raised once again after his death. Many people started asking about his "super magical power."

The renowned controversial writer Taslima Nasreen from her Twitter account said, "Now what exactly do u want to say?

He was a normal human being
He was actually..he cheated on crores of his followers."

Criticising Sai Baba's earlier claim that he would die at the age of 94 in 2020, Taslima Nasreen tweeted, "No amount of good works can justify fooling common people and exploiting their dreams."

Taslima Nasreen was not the only one who criticised Sai Baba's "spiritual power." Many people were there who sound similar to the controversial Bangladeshi author. A tweeple tweeted from his Twitter account, "Sai Baba didn't keep to his promise to die @ 94. Lesson to mankind:

He is not God but human

Despite all controversies, from general people to well-known celebrities have enlisted their names at the devotees list of the Sri Sthya Sai Baba. Strating from actor Amitabh Bachchan to Sachin Tendulkar showed their faith on the "godman." Even his followership crossed the boundary of the nation. Thousands of international devotees paid their tribute to the "guru."

The Sathya Sai Baba was much beyond a spiritual guru to the masses and was born as Sathyanarayana Raju in the quaint village of Puttaparthi in Andhra Pradesh on Nov 23 1926 and was gradually noticed for his miraculous deeds that included getting food and sweets from thin air right from childhood. Regarded as the reincarnation of the Shirdi Sai Baba who was also known for his many charitable acts.

With many hospitals, schools, and programmes spread across the world, his followers are believed to be close to 6 million. There are 1200 Sathya Sai Baba Centers in 114 countries worldwide. The trust runs general hospitals, two specialty hospitals, eye hospitals and mobile dispensaries. He was the messiah for the less fortunate and his prestigious water project gets the biggest clap. He was instrumental in spearheading in a project to supply water to 1.2 million people in the drought-ridden Anantpur district in AP. The project was called the "Sathya Sai Ganga Canal."

With a life of charmed existence, Satya Sai Baba getting 'vibhuthi' from thin air was the one image that is etched in our minds. For many a mere touch could transform their lives to a level that was beyond explanation.

Controversies swirled around godman
Over the years, Sathya Sai Baba was embroiled in a few controversies, though in no instance did the mud stick. Rumours about Sai Baba sexually abusing young male devotees circulated for years. Under the guise of the yogic technique of ‘kundalini raising’ he was alleged to have massaged the genitals of boys and young men with perfumed oil.

In 1976, a former American devotee Tal Brooke wrote a book called Avatar of the Night: The Hidden Side of Sai Baba, describing the guru’s sexual perversions. But Brooke’s allegations were dismissed by millions of Baba’s followers as resulting from “a sick and vengeful mind”.

The most dramatic incident occurred in June 1993 when four male devotees, who were close to Sai Baba, broke into his private quarters late at night armed with knives. They were stopped by Sai Baba’s personal attendants and in the violent struggle that ensued, two of the attendants were killed and two seriously wounded. Sai Baba managed to escape through a secret flight of stairs and raised the alarm. When the police arrived, the four men were in Sai Baba’s bedroom and they were shot dead in cold blood. The police claimed that they shot the intruders in self-defence.

Investigation shelved
The nominal investigation that followed was subsequently shelved, allegedly at the behest of central leaders. Sai Baba – one of the key witnesses to the events of that night – was himself never questioned.

There have also been allegations of financial misdemeanours and in 1986, a case was filed against Sai Baba for violating the Gold Control Act. The Baba’s followers have also been known to have physically assaulted various persons who dared to speak out against him.

What Next for the 40,000-cr Trust?
Ever since reports first started filtering in that Sri Sathya Sai Baba wouldn’t recover, speculation began about what would happen to the Rs 40,000 crore-worth property that belongs to Sathya Sai Central Trust.

There were rumours that the government would take over. Another rumour had it that the Trust’s properties in Puttaparthi, Whitefield, Kodaikanal and other places would be parcelled out among certain key acolytes.

However, on Sunday, Andhra Pradesh chief minister Kiran Kumar Reddy made it clear that the AP government will not interfere in the working of the Trust. He said: “The Trust is in order. We have spoken to Trust members. They have assured us that all activities will continue in the same way as it was when Baba was alive.”

Anna Hazare Bullshit on Anti-corruption ??

If the Jan Lok Pal presides over the same system that has has corrupted civil servants, politicians, anti-corruption watchdogs, judges, media, civil society groups and ordinary citizens, why should we expect that the ombudsman will be incorruptible? Because the person is handpicked by unelected, unaccountable ‘civil society’ members? Those who propose that Nobel laureates (of Indian origin, not even of Indian citizenship) and Ramon Magsaysay Award winners should be among those who pick the Great Ombudsman of India—who is both policeman and judge—insult the hundreds of millions of ordinary Indian voters who regularly exercise their right to franchise. For they are demanding that the Scandinavian grandees in the Nobel Committee and the Filipino members of the Magsaysay foundation should have an indirect role in selecting an all-powerful Indian official. [See this post at Reality Check India]
The argument that people should be involved in drafting legislation is fine, even if it misses the point that the government is not a foreign entity but a representative of the people. It is entirely other thing to demand that the legislation drafted by an self-appointed, unaccountable and unrepresentative set of people be passed at the threat of blackmail. If we must have representatives of the people involved in lawmaking, we are better off if they are the elected ones, however flawed, as opposed to self-appointed ones, whatever prizes the latter might have won.

The Jan Lok Pal will become another logjammed, politicised and ultimately corrupt institution, for the passionate masses who demand new institutions have a poor record of protecting existing ones. Where were the holders of candles, wearers of Gandhi topis and hunger strikers when the offices of the Chief Election Commissioner, the Central Vigilance Commissioner and even the President of the Republic were handed out to persons with dubious credentials? If you didn’t come out to protest the perversion of these institutions why are you somehow more likely to turn up to protest when a dubious person is sought to be made the Jan Lok Pal?"

Indian Basted Black Money List Revealed ?

It is almost two years since the German Government had passed on the names and bank account details of eighteen Indians who had stashed their alleged ill-gotten wealth in the LGT bank of Liechtenstein, a well-known tax haven nation, 190 km from Munich, Germany.

Germany had officially handed over the list to the Indian Government on 18 March 2009. Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and Union Finance Minister Pranab Mukherjee have since said more than once that this list cannot be disclosed to the Indian people. Opposition parties like the BJP and the Left Front have repeatedly said the names must be disclosed. The BJP has been accusing the government of shielding the names of the tax evaders and not doing enough to bring back the crores of rupees stashed away in tax havens.

Thus, the list has become a subject of tremendous controversy and suspense.

TEHELKA has accessed 16 of the 18 names, of which we are putting out 15 right now. These names include individuals as well as trusts. At this point, we are putting out 15 names without disclosing details like their addresses, the businesses they are involved in and the total money they have stored away in Liechtenstein. Abiding by the basic journalistic principle of proving the accused an opportunity to present their side of story, TEHELKA has approached each of these individuals involved and is awaiting their response.

Once these individuals respond, we shall share the full details of who these people are and what they do. We shall also put out their responses. This, then, is the list.

1. Manoj Dhupelia

2. Rupal Dhupelia

3. Mohan Dhupelia

4. Hasmukh Gandhi

5. Chintan Gandhi

6. Dilip Mehta

7. Arun Mehta

8. Arun Kochar

9. Gunwanti Mehta

10. Rajnikant Mehta

11. Prabodh Mehta

12. Ashok Jaipuria

13. Raj Foundation

14. Urvashi Foundation

15. Ambrunova Trust

The three trusts in this list are registered outside India.

The government has been claiming so far that a detailed investigation into all the bank account details provided by Germany is underway and making the names public would violate the agreement between two sovereign countries, India and Germany.

According to highly placed sources, the investigation into the 15 names that TEHELKA is disclosing, is close to completion and the Central Board of Direct taxes would soon prosecute these trusts and individuals under the relevant provisions of the Income tax Act.

The sources told TEHELKA that the two main charges proved against these individuals are of tax evasion and concealment of income.

The authorities also believe that some of these account holders could be fronts for high profile individuals. One name in particular is being investigated for suspected links with a well-known Indian politician.

The name of the chairman of a major Indian corporation is also part of the list, but TEHELKA is holding back his name until we have his full version.

According to Pranab Mukherjee, the German Government has provided the information under the strict confidentiality clauses of the Double Taxation Avoidance Agreement, and hence they could not be disclosed at the stage of investigation.

However, once the government launches prosecutions, the name would be made public, he had said.

These 18 names are part of the list of 1,400 clients, which were stolen from the databank of LGT Group, the Liechtenstein bank owned by the principality's ruling family, and passed on to German tax authorities in 2008.

The German government had paid as much as €5 million, or $7.4 million, for information on German account holders in Liechtenstein on a disk provided by an informant to the German Federal Intelligence Service, or BND.

After this, Germany and England had launched massive investigations into the suspected tax evasions and have since prosecuted dozens of their citizens on charges of tax evasion and concealment of income.

The German Government alone had initiated action against over 600 of its tax payers.

Besides taking action against its own citizens, the German Government had also shared this information with other countries including India.

Prime Minister Manmohan Singh: "Investigations are on"

But the Indian names figuring in LGT Bank list are only a tip of the iceberg. Experts estimate that Rs 65 lakh crores of ill-gotten wealth earned by Indians is stored in Swiss banks alone.

According to R Vaidyanathan, Professor of Finance at the Indian Institute of Management, Bengaluru, the average amount stashed away by Indians in offshore tax havens between 2002 and 2006 was $136.5 billion. “These illegal funds lying in tax havens are not just related to the issue of tax evasion. It is capital flight from India and part of a corrupt nexus between politicians, bureaucrats and corporate companies,” says Vaidyanathan.

Different Indian governments over the past 20 years have done little to bring this money back by making necessary changes in existing Indian taxation and foreign exchange management laws.

Besides, the government has been slow in renegotiating double taxation avoidance treaties with different tax havens and making provisions for clauses under which the governments and banks could be compelled to disclose the account details.

For instance, under the existing Indo-Swiss Double Taxation Avoidance Agreement (DTAA), information on the Swiss bank deposits of Indian residents could not to be revealed until the Indian Government furnishes evidence of criminality behind these banking transactions.

Pranab Mukherjee: "We can't reveal the names"

India enters into DTAAs with other countries to encourage flow of foreign capital and technology, and also to check tax evasion. The purpose of a DTAA is to mitigate the hardship caused by dual taxation on the same source of income. Double taxation on a single source earned by an individual is possible under income tax, as taxation depends not on citizenship, but on residential status.

To date, India has signed comprehensive double taxation avoidance agreements with 77 countries.

“I have asked the revenue department to reopen negotiations for all 77 double tax avoidance agreements with all countries that we have entered into so far, so that we can have real time exchange of information on tax evasion and tax avoidance,” Mukherjee had said at the India Economic Summit in November 2009.

Since the recession hit the economies of developed countries, the Organisation for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD) has been leading a campaign for transparency in the international banking system, and making the tax havens to necessarily exchange information with other countries where tax evasions are involved.

The US in particular has been proactive in using the might of its economy to make different tax havens fall in line, and share the names of US citizens who have deposited money in these tax havens.

For instance, the UBS Bank, a Swiss bank and the world’s largest wealth management company, came under US scrutiny in June 2008 to uncover the identity of US nationals who maintained secret accounts in the bank and were defrauding the American revenue department.

When the US Government threatened to prosecute the USB Bank, the bank paid a fine of $780 million and also agreed to reveal the details of the hidden assets of US nationals within a fixed time frame failing which it would face prosecution.

Ambani House cost a More than poor man HOUSE ? Bombay “SLUMs” is INDIA’s Poor Comman Person House ?

Ambani House cost a More
than Poor Man HOUSE ?
Bombay “SLUMs” is INDIA’s Poor Comman Person House ?

MUMBAI: Antilia, the luxe 27-storey home of India's richest person Mukesh Ambani in south Mumbai, is ready for housewarming during the ongoing festive season. The building, which stands taller than most buildings in the vicinity and is visible from a distance in every direction, bears the name of a legendary island in the Atlantic Ocean.

Mukesh Ambani, chairman of Reliance Industries, India's largest private sector company, whose personal wealth is estimated to be $27 billion, is set to move into his mansion by the end of the month. The palatial building, completed after seven years of labour, has three helipads on the top floor and has been billed as the most opulent home of an individual anywhere in the world. The Ambani scion has invited the who's who of the country for a sneak preview and celebrations on October 28.

Ambani's multi-million-dollar customized skyscraper in Altamount Road would have Kumar Mangalam Birla, scion of the Birla family, as one of his neighbours.

The glass tower that stands 570 feet tall features a swimming pool, a health club, a salon and a mini-theatre. The first six levels comprise the garage where more than 160 cars can be parked. Atop the parking lot is Antilia's lobby, which has nine elevators.

The lobby leads to numerous lounges, powder rooms and a ballroom. The top floors, with a sweeping view of the city, are where the 53-year old business magnate, his wife Nita and children Akash, Anant and Isha will reside. Nita, who has been managing the affairs at Dhirubhai Ambani International School and the Mumbai Indians IPL team, has been involved in every detail and aspect of the mansion, roping in international architecture firms Hirsch Bedner Associates and Perkins Will. No two rooms in the building look the same.

"I have seen several houses, including that of Lakshmi Mittal (owner of Arcelor Mittal). But Antilia is marvellous. I remember the house having a Picasso painting, it was one of its kind," said the chairman of a diversified telecom-to-retail business. The ballroom, according to him, was just stunning. He confirmed that he has an invitation to visit the new Ambani home on the 28th. For some others, it has become a talking point.

Currently, the elder Ambani brother shares the address with his estranged brother Anil Ambani, who manages Reliance Anil Dhirubhai Group of companies, at Sea Wind in South Mumbai's posh Cuffe Parade. Incidentally, the elder brother bought the plot on Altamount Road soon after the spat between the brothers became public. The two have patched up recently.
